Simple Berry Smoothie

photo 3 (2)January is usually a time of year where people decide to get healthy and active, and packing a few extra vitamins into your life is never a bad thing. If you have a hand blender or a food processor, smoothies are a great tasting way to do just that, and as frozen fruit is just as good. Keep berries in the freezer to be able to make a smoothie whenever you feel you need a boost and use what you have readily available to create quick, healthy drinks – here is one idea! You could also add oats to thicken it up a bit.

Serves 3

200g frozen mixed berries

300ml semi-skimmed milk

1. Blend the honey and the berries together until there are no large chunks.

2. Add the yoghurt and blend again, making sure it is all mixed together well.

3. Gradually start adding the milk, blending again after each addition.

4. When the smoothie has reached the desired consistency (mine was still quite thick but pourable), check the taste. If it needs a bit more sweetness, add a little more honey, otherwise pour into glasses and serve!
